Rain or Shine
For anyone who may be wondering, we will have the TEA Party next Monday rain or shine. Unless there are severe storms in the area, the rally will take place at the Union City Park as scheduled. In the extremely unlikely event that we are unable to meet at the park, we have a large gymnasium in Union reserved as a backup. We will be sending updates through our website, email, Facebook and Twitter the morning of the TEA Party to reassure everyone. KPLW radio AM1220, who is broadcasting live from the TEA Party, will also be giving updates Monday morning if there are any changes.
More Help Needed Passing Out Fliers
We have passed out several thousand fliers to citizens of Franklin County over the past couple of weeks, but there is still much to do. Tomorrow (Thursday) evening we will be meeting at the Union City Park at 6:00pm to try to cover as much of Union as possible. Please try to be there.
Saturday morning will be our last opportunity to distribute fliers for the TEA Party. Meet us at Krog Park at 10:00am to help!
Products & Food
All of the items listed on our products page (as well as books, pocket-sized Constitutions and flags) will be available for purchase at the TEA Party on Monday. Due to the expense of printing these things, we will have a very limited supply of some items, but we will have order forms in case we run out.
We will also be providing barbecue at the rally so come hungry! There will be hamburgers, hotdogs, soda. etc. This will be an excellent way for us to raise some funds to help pay for these expenses, so plan on bringing all of your friends and families and staying staying for lunch!
TEA Party Volunteers
I am sure you can imagine the volunteers that will be needed for this large of an event. MANY volunteers will be needed for registration, product and food sales, serving food, cleanup and parking to name a few. We really need some people to step up to help us out with this. If you would be willing to assist with any of these areas, simply let us know using the contact link at the top of this page or join the others who have commented through our Facebook page.
When you link to people like Glen Beck & Ann Coulter, do you really expect people to take you seriously? People with an attitude such as theirs do nothing for our nation, except create more harm and polarization. They are racists plain and simple.
You say you want to return to the “good ole days” to what our dear “founding fathers” had in mind, but for MANY those days were neither good or right. Slavery, genocide of Native Americans, oppression of the poor and immigrant population (from whence most of us came) suffered greatly under the white/rich supremacist theology that “created” our nation. They still suffer unfairly today.
THAT is what needs to change!
I agree. When you let people like that speak for you it brings to question your judgement.
When I read about people pulling the race card, I would have to question their judgement (or INTENTIONS). No one is implying that the “good old days” were BECAUSE of slavery. If you knew anything about the debates during the Constitutional Convention, you may know that it is because of a compromise between the Northern and Southern states that kept the country from splitting right then, thus allowing the United States to do more to end slavery around the world then nearly any other nation on the planet in the history of the world. Although it did take another 85 yearsto end slavery, had it not been for the compromise, who knows how long it would have taken? The principles of our Constitution are timeless. We want to get back to the principles of small government. If you would like to fully appreciate the gravity of big government, please feel free to make a solid effort at exercising the freedoms you currently enjoy in a place more like Cuba. I’m sure there are plenty of people down there who would be more than willing to row your canoe back to Florida for you. Take a good news paper to read for the trip but don’t get caught with it once you get there.
