Why in the heck do people tune in to Sean Hannity anyway? This guy is a Republican mouthpiece. If they're on corporate radio they aren't worth listening to.

No Newt for President
Sean Hannity says the country needs to elect true Ronald Reagan conservatives to office. Then he talks about Newt Gingrich running for President. I do not understand the contradiction, because Newt is not a true Reagan conservative.
Newt says the United States is a center right country and the tea party movement shows the American people are not happy with Washington. Newt, tell us something we don’t already know. The American people are waking up to the radical agenda of the Obama administration and the Democrats/Statists. Common Sense Conservatism is rising again and the Statists day is coming in November.
Bob Dole/Dull said it was his turn to run for President and we got 4 more years of the rapist Bill Clinton. Then it was John McCain’s “turn” and we ended up with Barack Hussein Obama.
The following observations and questions are the reason I do not believe Newt Gingrich is a real common sense Reagan conservative Republican espoused by Hannity.
Gary Gill was running against Missouri’s 3rd District Democrat Representative Dick Gephardt and he was leading in the polls until Newt praised Gephardt. Gill ended up losing the election.
Newt made the Contract with America that helped the Republicans win the US House in 1994.
What did the Republicans do after they won the US House in 1994? They did not follow through on the contract.
In 2005 he teamed up with Hillary Clinton on National Healthcare and claimed she would be a formidable candidate for President. He did a Climate Change commercial with Pelosi and teamed up with Sharpton on education.
Newt backed Dede Scozzafava, another RINO, in the New York Congressional race.

Newt was on Greta and commented to her, “You strengthen yourself by attracting more people than by driving them away,” implying that you must compromise your conservative principles in order to expand the party. I believe you stand on conservative principles & let the people come to you.
Above all, he stated the Era of Reagan Conservatism is over.

He is positioning himself to run for President as a middle of the roader, and is being too cute and disingenuous when he was asked about recent trips to Iowa and New Hampshire and gives an evasive answer. Newt is out for Newt. He is not a true conservative and this country does not need him as President. Before Hannity lends too much support to Newt, he should have him explain his reasoning for his actions.

JasonBeaufort,

If you are going to quote Jesus then I would expect you to give reference to your quote. God is not happy with wars but God understand, more than any of us, that do to the fallen nature of man, war is an unfortunate fact of the condition we know as sin. Wars can be fought for the right reason and when they are fought they should be fought in a way that leads to complete and total victory. Please find the evidence for this yourself in the first 5 books of the Old Testament.
Mr. LeBeau is correct, many did get mad and many did not. Just because you didn't see any one standing on the corner over the last eight years does not mean that we were not mad.
The fact that you did not stand on the corner in protest does not mean that you were not mad about those things you listed although according to your logic I would have to assume that you were not mad because I didn't see you protesting.
By the way, the Constitution DOES say that women have the right to vote, it also remedies the 3/5th Compromise. I would like to invite you to read Amendments 11 - 27.
Before you try to use the Constitution, I would highly recommend that you read it as well as the Minutes kept by James Madison at the convention where it was written; that would help you to understand the intent behind each statement found in its text.
You may also want to brush up on your history. The text that you are quoting from the early days of the English colonies is just one piece of false evidence that the early colonist tried socialism, the truth is that the land of the Plymouth Colony was not commonly held by some public system but by a joint stock system between a group of English investors and the Crown.
Many people know of the trials of the Pilgrims so you would most definitely have to put the quote in context: THEY BARLEY SURVIVED WINTER! They sacrificed for each other; they had to in order to survive. They were not mandating the redistribution of wealth, wise up.
The more socialism you implement, the more freedom has to be taken until it leads to the end which is full blown communism at which point you don't own anything and your inherent rights and personal freedom are nothing but a distant memory.

Please, I beg you, Jason, allow you logic to come full circle.

"do you honestly think that, left to their own devices, most Americans, especially the corporate CEO’s, would share their resources to care for their fellow Americans?"

The same intrusions on the rights of man that you enumerated above were all conspired out of Man, not angels; the government, not middle class Americans.

Now I have to ask you:
do you honestly think that, left to their own devices, the American government who did all those things you listed, would share their resources to care for their fellow Americans or at least you?

I don't think that a bureaucrat 2,000 miles away cares at all about me, let alone even knows I exist. They don't even care enough about the troops to fund them adequately or give them rules of engagement that work to preserve their lives; I am telling you that first hand. I would rather let the choice be left up to me; let me have the freedom to exercise my rights and pursuit my own happiness.

You should join us, this is not about left vs right, it is a freedom issue.

Mr. LeBeau, Good for you lasting 75 yrs. That alone is worth celebrating.

Yes, war is horrible. And that's why Jesus condemned it. I don't think we should justify torturing people by pointing to horrible things done by other countries in the past

No, it doesn't say in the Constitution that the government is required to provide medical care for our citizens. But, then, it also doesn't say women should vote and it counts Americans of African descent as 3/5th of a person. If we take the Constitution literally, we will have to change many things about our laws today.

I urge you to go even further back to the Protestant refugees we call Pilgrims and read their ideology. Look up "A Model of Christian Charity" by John Winthrop, governor of the Massachusetts Bay Colony. We celebrate Thanksgiving with turkey and pumpkin pie, but it would be a good tradition to start reading this piece every year and publishing it in the newspapers.

We like to quote the "city upon a hill" phrase from this document when we brag about America's exceptionalism. But we ignore the main theme of the piece which is that the colonists' governing articles required all members of the colony to share resources and to care for each other in brotherly love.

This line in particular comes very close to what today we would call socialism: "We must be willing to abridge our selves of our superfluities, for the supply of others' necessities."

I agree with you that our country has gotten too big and too complicated - and in many cases too regulated , but do you honestly think that, left to their own devices, most Americans, especially the corporate CEO's, would share their resources to care for their fellow Americans?

Who was it who said "If men were angels, there would be no need for government."

JasonBeaufort --one of the great things in our country we can go on tirades such as you posted. One can never make a blanket statement such as "you didn't get mad ..."

Some did most didn't. However one point as to our country allegedly using torture. Read about the atrocities that the Japanese did to our soldiers on Iwo Jima (Flags of our Fathers) Yes war is horrible.

I will address your last item as to health care from a couple of perspectives. I am 75 yrs upon this earth and when I was a child we were very poor losing our home to the government (a story for another time) and we were treated by doctors and St. Mary's Hospital when needed. My father paid what he could. NO ONE was turned away.

As the government started more and more regulations, etc., the costs went up and health care started to diminish. I won't go into the thousands of people who do not take care of their health. Obesity is the biggest problme (I don't want to open a can of worms,, here)

Back to the issue of gorvernment run health care. Show me where it is in the Constitution that government is to provide health care or anything other than the preservation of our rights and protection of the country. Most people today don't read the Constitution, and have no concept of it's wonderfully enacted provisions. I am sure Obama has not, nor most of the politicians. It it is not in the Constitution it is left up to the "willy-nilly" politicans we elect in our state government.

Sorry this is so long, but a blog such as this can be good if we all post our true feelings and those feelings should be based upon some knowledge of facts.
I also wish everyone a Blessed Day in our Lord Jesus Christ -- as a Christian I make no excuses for a true wish from my heart.

You didn't get mad when the Supreme Court > stopped a legal recount and appointed a President.> >

You didn't get mad > when Cheney allowed Energy company officials to dictate> energy > policy.> >

You didn't get mad when a covert CIA operative got > outed.> >

You didn't get mad when the Patriot Act got passed.>

> You > didn't get mad when we illegally invaded a country that> posed no threat to > us.> >

You didn't get mad when we spent over 600 billion(and> counting) on > said illegal war.> >

You didn't get mad when over 10 billion dollars just > disappeared in Iraq.> >

You didn't get mad when you saw the Abu Grahib > photos.> >

You didn't get mad when you found out we were torturing people.> >

You didn't get mad when the government was illegally> wiretapping > Americans.> >

You didn't get mad when we didn't catch Bin Laden.>

> You > didn't get mad when you saw the horrible conditions at> Walter Reed.> >

You > didn't get mad when we let a major US city drown.> >

You didn't get mad when > the deficit hit the trillion dollar mark.> >

You finally got mad when the government decided that people in America deserved the right to see a > doctor if they were sick. > >

Yes, illegal wars, lies, corruption, torture, > stealing your tax dollars to make the rich richer, are all> OK with you, but helping other Americans? well SCREW that. > > > (And have a blessed day!)>

Yes, illegal wars, lies, corruption, torture, > stealing your tax dollars to make the rich richer, are all> OK with you, but helping other Americans? well SCREW that. > > > (And have a blessed day!)>

I cannot believe someone with conservative and Christian values would post something such as this.

If what we believe as Christians, Newt should have supported Doug Hoffman, and not someone who has beliefs that run counter to our Lord's word as spelled out in Scripture.

Hoffman would not have had to run as a so called third party conservative if the Republicans had from the start supported him. I am tired of the hypocrisy in the Republican Party and truthfully I am disappointed that the verbiage of this post is as written seeming to give some credence to Newt.
