WashMO Tea Party Recap

It was a gorgeous night at Rennick Riverfront Park last night. Seven hundred patriots gathered across the riverfront to celebrate freedom and stand up to big government. Angela Rogers welcomed the crowd and our favorite Fife and Drum Corps led off the night with a great rendition of the Star Spangled Banner.

Todd Rio, one of the organizers of the WashMO Tea Part Patriots, spoke on what the Tea Party is, and what it is not. It is not a wing of any political party, but rather is made up of citizens intending to hold their elected officials accountable for their actions.

Jeff Teismann, member of the Franklin County Patriots, talked about the Constitution and the role of the government in protecting our freedom. Jeff has taught multiple courses on the Constitution in Franklin County, and has another class scheduled in the near future.

Mitch Martin and Diane Jones rallied the crowd on the greatness of the Constitution and the importance of our involvement.

It was encouraging when around 20% of the people said that they had never before attended a Tea Party event before. Probably 70% said they had never worked seriously on a campaign prior to this year. More and more people are getting involved this year, and it will be worth it in November. Don’t give up!
